We have been discussing many times the advantages of bilingualism but to be fair, we would like to share this article with you that questions the benefits of knowing another language. And what is the outcome of their study? The outcome may surprise you.
Some researchers are finding that the benefits of being bilingual or multi-lingual maybe most conclusive in helping with an aging brain, rather than in the development of a particular skill. Adults who speak multiple languages seem to resist the effects of dementia far better than monolinguals do. That is strong enough reason to start learning other languages, and continue doing so as long as we can!
